Erv and Margaret Pesek head QU fund drive

QU's goal: $1 million

Quincy University has launched its annual fund drive Thursday with a goal of $1 million.

Julie Bell, Quincy University director of development, has announced Erv '71 and Margaret "Punky" (Moran '72) Pesek as chairpersons for QU's 2008-2009 Annual Fund drive, "A Proud Tradition, a Promising Future."  QU has already raised more than $230,000 of their 2008-09 Annual Fund goal including gifts, pledges and verbal commitments.

Margaret is a member of the National Alumni Board and Erv serves on the University's Board of Trustees.  In 1996, Erv was inducted in the QU Sports Hall of Fame for his contributions to the QU soccer team (1967-1970) and he currently serves on the Hall of Fame Nominating Committee.  In their hometown of St. Louis, Margaret is an educator and Erv is the president/owner of Common Sense Consultants, Inc.  Margaret serves as regional coordinator for Cornerstone Catholic Bible Study Organization and is a participant in the Habitat for Humanity program.  Erv is a member of the Salvation Army Camp Mihaska Advisory Board and a past member of the National City Bank Advisory Board.  

"Momentum is building at Quincy University, with our largest incoming class in nine years," said Robert Gervasi, president of Quincy University.  "We're pleased to have the leadership of Margaret and Erv Pesek, and the support of many other alumni and friends, to ensure that this year's Annual Fund generates the needed investment in our students and in our community to build on that momentum."

John Ostdiek '50, Kevin Reller '90, Chuck Scholz, Steve Siebers, Jeff & Theresa (Powers '96) Spear, and Judith '59 and Joe Winkelmann.
